i was thinking of getting a tv just for netflix and video games

now, however, i might have to get cable. so i can get showtime. so i can be a part of the first season of the this american life tv show.

isn’t that logo awesome?

those folks push my buttons on so many levels it’s kind of embarassing.

anyway, i think if i get cable i might get the dish network because it’s cheaper and would have the perk of allowing me to avoid comcast. to tempt me to order before my brain kicks in to think about it, they are throwing in something like a free mansion (complete with butler!) with new subscriptions, but i’m not tricked.

there’s also a 3 month trial of showtime, though, which would help with that whole killing birds with small numbers of stones thing.

any warnings or advice?

on a similar note, i’m probably going to buy a monitor that can double as a tv. so if you have thoughts on that matter, i would also be interested.

now back to your regularly scheduled blogging.

That TAL logo really strongly reminds me of the new Dunkin Donuts campaign: America Runs on Dunkin

    you’re right!
i guess rebuses (rebi?) are IN.
they must make folks feel smart.
i saw that dunkin donuts logo while we were traveling (tif and i managed to find an actual DD, not just a donut house! ;) ), but i didn’t put the two together.
i must say that i do find the TAL logo more clever, though.
coming up with one shot representations of “this” and “life” is tough, and their choices make me go “awww…” and “damn, that’s good!” at the same time, which also kind of summarizes my feelings about the show as a whole, so… spot on.

now, however, i’m concerned my apartment won’t go for the dish thing, which i didn’t think about at first, so i am worried because i’m not sure i can get showtime without upgrading comcast to the diamond-encrusted platinum venti quintuple-shot package.

    grrr…

God DAMN it you’re a nuisance to get ahold of. :)

How pleasant, though, that you’ve done such a stellar job of creating a web presence. In the last year I’ve moved to Australia, visited Korea, and am now in the divine Wellington, New Zealand, I’ve changed jobs into my dream career (if you do get a TV for Showtime, JUST DON’T FORGET THOSE VIDEO GAMES), and I’ve managed a grand total of three completely unimpressive blog posts. I AM SUPER COOL. And also jealous of all this pretty stuff you’ve done.

Shoot me an email, dammit! Let me know what you’re up to! I will then proceed to buy web space JUST so that I can create a page that’s nothing but your email address hundreds of times in a row to delight those slavering spambots. Best,

    Mark
